Free People Dress/Thrift Necklace/Faux Septum Ring
For a very long time, I’ve always been so scared to write my book. Whenever I think of writing a full length novel, I would freak out and just tell myself that I couldn’t do it. I started this blog in honor of my Grandmother and as a place for me to write short little stories of fiction and fantasy, and to also for you loves to get to know a little more about me through my life stories. I’m really proud to say, that after 2 long years of battling anxiety, I’m ready to write my very first book! All those years writing for my college newspaper, writing mini stories for my blog, and diving head first into different genres of novels written by great authors-has really given me the confidence I need to really run towards my dream. There fore I would like to tell you that I will be focusing more on fashion and travel for my future posts as I write my book on the side. This is also the reason for the picture that shows butterflies in the palms of my hands. To me, this picture means that I am setting myself free of fear and anxiety, and letting myself reach my full potential.
A for the fashion side of this post, for the last year, I’ve really thought about my style and what kind of vibe I want Tigers in Paris to exude. I think that for a long time, my style has really been all over the place. This would have been very hard for me to admit if I was a couple of years younger, especially when I remember my days in Japan where I would show up to a study abroad cooking class in a BCBG Generation royal blue dress with oversized ruffled shoulders that reminded you of the 80’s and didn’t have a care in the world if no body liked it- I thought I was so cool and on trend. But as I grow older, I really want my style to have some sort of direction. During my time off from social media this summer, I found that I really gravitated towards a laid back, bohemian look with a vintage feel. I know I look so tired in this picture, but it kind of gives off a grunge kind of feel doesn’t it? I used to not like this red dress pictured here, but when I tried it on for the second time, it’s actually very comfortable for casual days out where you want to look nice but not over dressed. To add a little bit of edge, I added a gold chain choker and stacked bracelets on both arms.
I look forward to writing more fashion related topics, till then…
